when she was good, she was very very good…

and when she was bad, she was horrid…

Ahhh, my lit and liberal arts major friends are fainting dead-away right now.  That’s right, sistahs – I’m quoting Longfellow!  Those two lines are perfectly fitting for my nutrition and exercise habits.

Sometimes I go for days eating garbage (like last week)… until I hit a wall where I realize how yucky I feel and then start cleaning up my eating habits…  When I’m eating garbage, I eat the worst of garbage.  When I’m eating clean, I eat very clean.  I know there’s that crazy thing of balance, but that’s just it – have you ever tried to balance on a bowling ball?  Not an easy feat, right?  Well, neither is balancing my eating habits, apparently.

This week, I’m on a “very very good” swing of things and have been eating/drinking yummy and good for me things like these:

lowfat vanilla yogurt with fresh organic strawberries

spinach salad mix from Trader Joe's (spinach, feta, cranberries, walnuts, poppyseed dressing) with grilled chicken breast

grilled teriyaki chicken, steamed jasmine rice, and grilled pineapple spears

32 refreshing ounces of filtered water

I loved these meals and how refreshed I felt eating them!  I wish I could find that switch in my brain to keep me from going back to bad eating habits.  Maybe if I refer back to this post I’ll be reminded?

Can you relate?
