stamp out hunger…

Okay, at the risk of hurting someone’s feelings, I have to say that I have several issues with the US postal service…  not the least of which is the fact that our mail carrier drives her truck up to our mailbox, with a skanky cigarette hanging out of her mouth and rather than actually step out and deliver packages to our doorstep, she basically tosses them the 50 feet to our door from her seated position.  And since we are constantly getting mail for other people (different addresses), I’m pretty sure someone else is getting our mail too – like possibly the notice from the Publisher’s Clearinghouse Sweepstakes Award saying that we are now millionaires.  Grrrr…

Anyway, I was just flipping through a magazine and ran across some blurb about the post office running a food drive that allows you to leave a bag of non-perishable food items at your mailbox on Saturday, May 8th, and your carrier will pick them up and deliver them to the local food bank.

I Support Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive — Saturday, May 8th

How cool is that?  Um, cool enough to make me feel bad for cussing the post office for the last 11 years… sorta.  ha!

Check out the scoop on this food drive here.
